The flame arrester is designed to extinguish and prevent the penetration of flame into adjacent sections of gas pipelines or ingress of flame from the environment into the gas pipeline of mine gas-suction plants.
The flame arrester can be used in power plants using gas mixtures with a propagation velocity of 0.3 to 0.5 m/s in chemical, petrochemical and other industries.
The action of flame arresters is based on the flame extinction in channels with an effective diameter smaller than the critical diameter through which the flame of the given gas mixture can propagate.
The flame arrester comes in two types: in-line (built in the gas pipe section area) and tank-mounted (mounted on the gas pipe outlet connection or on the tank). Both types have similar specifications.
