The unit is designed to monitor health of the grounding circuit of quarry electrical installations and improve safety of surface mining operations.
It is used for powering mobile mining equipment via a trailing cable with auxiliary control conductors.
It is installed on the inside of the connection point and serves to monitor health of the grounding conductor of the trailing cable powering mobile mining machines and electrical installations at open pit mines. The unit monitors the section from the connection point to electrical installations (of mining machines).
In case of the open circuit fault or increase of electrical resistance of the grounding circuit, as well as unauthorized opening of the protective enclosures of electric equipment, the high-voltage circuit breaker of the connection point will trip. The alarm light will turn on.
The unit has a health self-monitoring function in case of the auxiliary conductor earth fault, relay open circuit fault and field failure, diode breakdown.
